Flashback to 2010 when I was massively underweight and still needed 75mcg of fentanyl ON TOP OF dilaudid and Valium to survive the pain and spasming of my body literally eating itself alive from SMA Syndrome. The patch would be changed every three days and had to always be left on, so it would eventually burn through my skin; You can see it on my side in this photograph. In an attempt to mentally cope with no longer being able to function as a healthy abled human, I excessively picked my skin. It was something I had done all of my life to cope with stressful situations, but at this point it was becoming dangerous. Most of them were on my legs, arms, and not just around, but on the nipples. (Buuuttt we all know how my nipples would have been absolutely --the-- most offensive thing about the photo had they actually have been visible.) The bandage in my arm was from the IV I had just received in the emergency room hours before. I had no idea that tiny scar under my belly button would become nearly invisible to the intense vertical 6" scar left from my recorrective by-pass that would be done to save my life 4 years later.
